When Relationships Feel Hard

You love them. So why does this feel so hard?

You care deeply about your relationships and want to honor Christ in the way you live and love. But knowing what you want your relationships to look like and knowing how to get there can be two very different things.

You keep having the same arguments without really resolving anything.
You feel emotionally distant from someone you love.
You struggle to communicate without becoming defensive, frustrated, or withdrawn.
You're carrying hurt or disappointment that you haven't known how to work through.
You've prayed, read books, or sought advice but still feel stuck.
You want your relationships to be healthier, but you're not sure what needs to change.

You don't need to pretend everything is okay. You also don't have to give up hope.

A Biblical Perspective on Relationships

“Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.”

James 1:19

Healthy relationships require more than simply avoiding conflict. They ask us to listen well, communicate honestly, extend grace, and learn healthier ways to respond when emotions run high.

Meet Your Counselor

Hi, I'm James Garner.

I don't believe you have to choose between professional therapy and your Christian faith.

I work with Christians and couples who are struggling with relationships, communication, emotional connection, and the challenges that come with living in a broken world.

My approach combines evidence-based counseling with a biblical worldview. Your faith can be an important part of the counseling process while we also use practical, clinically supported tools to understand patterns, work through difficult emotions, improve communication, and create meaningful change.

My goal isn't to tell you who's right or who's wrong. It's to create a safe and compassionate space where you can be honest about what's happening and begin taking meaningful steps forward.
